How it works
What the tool assumes
- Use the date the warranty actually started. That's often the delivery or installation date, not the order date, and some makers count from registration.
- The likely last day is the day before the anniversary: a 2-year warranty starting 15 March 2026 usually covers up to 14 March 2028. Some terms include the anniversary itself, so the anniversary is shown too.
- Starting on the 29th to 31st of a month, the anniversary falls on the last day of a shorter month.
- These dates are an estimate to plan around, not legal advice. Your contract, your country's consumer law and any registration rules decide what's actually covered.
Kopti keeps the receipt, warranty term and serial number with the product itself, and reminds you before cover ends.
Questions
Common questions
Is this the same as my legal right to a repair?
No. Many countries give statutory rights that differ from the manufacturer's warranty, and they can last longer. Check your local consumer rules if something fails near or after the end date.
How far ahead should the reminder be?
A month gives you time to spot problems, find the receipt and book a repair. For expensive items, two months is safer.
What do I need when I make a claim?
Usually proof of purchase showing the date, the model and serial number, and a description of the fault. The appliance passport tool keeps those on one page.
